The classic flat-black finish popular on rural and equine properties.

StudX Full Body Black

Fuller, Glossier Black Finish

A higher-build black finish with a richer appearance and more gloss than original StudX.

Best for: Recoating sound, compatible water-based coatings, colour changes and applications where greater build is required.

Coating system: Two coats.

StudX White

Classic White Fence Finish

A premium white finish for the traditional clean post-and-rail appearance.

Best for: Properly prepared timber and sound, compatible existing surfaces where a crisp white finish is required.

Coating system: Two coats.

Before You Paint

New timber must be adequately weathered before coating. As a guide, new softwood such as treated pine should weather for a minimum of 4–6 weeks. Hardwoods generally require longer.

For existing or well-weathered uncoated timber, a simple water bead test can help determine whether the surface is receptive. If water beads on the surface rather than being absorbed, further weathering or preparation may be required.

Previously coated fencing should be clean, sound and free from loose, flaking or failing paint before recoating.
